Built for the way retail actually works

Every feature is designed around real retail operations — not theoretical workflows. Offline-first, fast, and reliable.

Offline-first

How offline POS works without internet

Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.

Most cloud POS systems stop selling the moment your connection drops. Abosto is built the other way round: the point of sale runs on a local-first transaction engine. Every sale is processed and stored on your own device first, so scanning, pricing, discounts and receipt printing all keep working through load-shedding, router failures or mobile dead zones.

When connectivity returns, a background sync engine reconciles automatically: sales flow up to the cloud back office, and catalog, pricing and stock changes flow back down to every terminal. Conflicts are resolved deterministically, and an audit trail records every movement, so your books stay accurate without manual re-capture.

For multi-store retailers this means each location keeps its own resilient local state while head office still sees consolidated, near-real-time reporting. No dedicated servers, no IT team on call — a standard PC or tablet is enough.

The full offline-POS deep-dive →

Run it your way

From a browser tab to a whole store of tills

Start selling with nothing installed — and grow into full offline power when you need it.

Zero install

Fully in the cloud

Open a browser and sell. The POS and Back Office run entirely in the cloud — any PC, laptop or tablet becomes a till in minutes, with nothing to install or maintain.

Perfect for getting started and for connected stores.

Abosto Desktop

One till, true offline

Install Abosto Desktop on a single POS device and it keeps selling with no internet at all — the full offline-first engine on your own machine, syncing to the cloud when connected.

Offline mode is available on Professional and Enterprise plans.

Abosto Desktop — Hub

One hub, every till in the store

Install once as a hub, and every till in the store — PCs and tablets alike — works off it over your local network, selling through outages together and syncing to the cloud as one.

Built for busy multi-till floors that cannot stop.

Make it yours

An interface you can shape to your business

We can't build every owner a dedicated system — so we built one you can shape yourself. No code, no consultants.

Your fields, your data

Add your own fields to products, customers, suppliers — any business object. Rename, reorder by drag-and-drop, set what is required, and hide what you never use.

Forms that follow your rules

Show and hide fields conditionally, validate the way your business works, and lay out add/edit screens and detail pages the way your staff think.

Preview before you commit

Every change is previewed live before it goes anywhere, and a full change history means you can always see what changed and when.

Permissions down to the action

Decide per role who can see, create, edit or delete each kind of record — one permission grid across the till and the back office.

Food & beverage ready

From the floor plan to the kitchen pass

Abosto isn't retail-only — table service is built in.

Tables, tabs and floor plans

Run a visual floor plan at the till: open a tab per table, move it, and settle when the guests are ready.

Modifiers done right

Extra cheese, no onions, double shot — modifier groups per product, chosen in a tap at the till.

Straight to the kitchen

Order tickets route to the kitchen printer automatically, with their own docket layout — the pass never waits on a waiter's memory.

Point of Sale

A register that never goes down

Abosto POS processes transactions locally first, then syncs to the cloud in the background. Your store keeps selling even when the internet drops — no lag, no waiting, no lost sales.

  • Offline-first: transactions process without internet
  • Instant barcode scanning and item lookup
  • Split and multi-tender payments; hold and resume sales
  • Shifts with counted floats, cash drops, and end-of-day cash-up
  • Supervisor approvals by PIN or printable override card
  • Receipt and kitchen/order-ticket printing via Abosto Print Proxy
  • Receipts your customers recognise — your text, your branding
  • Email or reprint any receipt; returns and refunds built in
  • Age verification and restricted item controls
  • Real-time catalog sync from back office

Works with your hardware

Receipt printers, barcode scanners, payment terminals — connect them all through our open-source print proxy.

Receipt printers

Epson TM-T88, Bixolon SRP-350, XPrinter POS-80 and any ESC/POS printer — USB or network. Plug in and print.

Barcode scanners

Standard USB and Bluetooth scanners work out of the box — no drivers, no configuration.

Label printers

Barcodes are generated per product and variant — EAN-13s created automatically — with a dedicated label-printer role on each terminal.

Cash drawers

Kick-driven drawers connected through your receipt printer open automatically on cash sales.

Keep the card machine you already have.

Abosto rings up the sale and records the payment type; your Yoco, SnapScan or bank speedpoint processes the payment on its own network, exactly as it does today. No integration project, no new hardware.

Abosto is not affiliated with these providers — card payments are processed entirely by your terminal.
